BILLS TO HOST COLTS TO KICK OFF 2010 BILLS TORONTO SERIES

BTS Preseason Game Will Take Place on August 19th at Rogers Centre

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The National Football League announced today that the Buffalo Bills will host the defending AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts for the 2010 Bills Toronto Series preseason game on August 19, 2010.

The game will be played at 7:30 pm at Rogers Centre.

“We are very excited to once again welcome the Buffalo Bills to Rogers Centre for the 2010 NFL season,” said Paul Beeston, President and CEO, Rogers Sports & Entertainment. “A strong preseason opponent like the AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts should provide an exciting match-up for Toronto to see the new look Bills under the direction of head coach Chan Gailey.”

The Bills Toronto Series will also feature a regular season game in 2010. The game date and opponent will be announced next month, along with the entire regular season schedule.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. said, “We are excited to play the Colts at Rogers Centre and continue our regionalization efforts with the Bills Toronto Series. Having played in Super Bowl XLIV, the Colts will be a very tough challenge, but Toronto fans will have the opportunity to see Future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and other great players.”

For the Indianapolis Colts, this year’s game will mark their first trip to Toronto and third international preseason game. The Colts played in Mexico City against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 19, 2000 and in Tokyo against the Atlanta Falcons on August 6, 2005.

“We are excited to be able to play in Toronto,” said Indianapolis Colts Owner and CEO Jim Irsay. “We know Canadians are avid football fans, and it promises to be a great experience for our players and coaches.”

The Buffalo Bills-Indianapolis Colts match-up will mark the fourth game of the Bills Toronto Series. Below is a look at the previous three games in the series:

• August 14, 2008 – Buffalo 24, Pittsburgh 21 (preseason)
• December 7, 2008 – Miami 16, Buffalo 13 (regular season)
• December 3, 2009 – NY Jets 19, Buffalo 13 (regular season)

The Buffalo-Indianapolis contest will mark the Bills’ fourth preseason contest played in Rogers Centre. Below is a look at the other Bills exhibition games played in Toronto:

• August 16, 1997 – Green Bay 35, Buffalo 3 – American Bowl
