Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell
General game comments:
“Obviously we started out with a few too many penalties in the beginning – a penalty on the kick return, one on the first series obviously that set us back just bit. But after that, I think things got rolling. I think we played with good energy – Both sides of the ball there early on did a lot of good things.”
“We did some things well – I think we improved in a lot of areas, but we’ve still got a lot of work to do. I think overall we got some good work out of our guys – we were pleased with that, but we’ll look at the film and see where we can get better.”

Buffalo Bills Running Back C.J. Spiller
On how it felt during his run and getting his first touchdown:
It felt good. The offensive line did a great job blocking up front. Coming in, we knew how they were going to play, that they were probably going to overrun a couple of our plays so I just did a great job just reading my keys and made a couple guys miss and just tried to get in there.
On whether he had to break tackles:
Yeah, I had to break a couple tackles. You know, that’s going to be key for me this year. I’ll have to break a couple runs and win those one-on-one matches.

BUFFALO BILLS QB TRENT EDWARDS
On his touchdown pass to WR Lee Evans:
It was just a deep flag route and Steve (Johnson) did a good job on his over-route occupying the safety. It’s just a matter of taking seven steps and throwing it as far as you can. Lee went and got it.
On the offense’s performance in the first half:
I thought we had a couple of good and bad drives. We’ll see some things on tape we’re not going to like, but for the most part we put the ball in the end zone and points on the board, and that’s what we like.
On the offense’s scoring production in the first half:
It starts with our running game. If C.J. (Spiller) can pound out yards, move the ball and the chains, it helps scoring touchdowns if you can run the ball like that.
On the...
