TORONTO, ON - Bills Toronto Series Organizers announced today that 180,000 ticket requests have been registered for the upcoming Bills Toronto Series games at Rogers Centre.
"Football fans from across the country have formally expressed their interest in watching live NFL football in Toronto," said Phil Lind, Vice Chairman, Rogers Communications. "We are overwhelmed by this response, and we are now working hard to ensure that the NFL experience in Toronto will be unforgettable."
Organizers also announced that the first group of tickets will be offered for sale (maximum 8 per person) to randomly selected www.billsintoronto.com registrants during the week of May 19, 2008. Tickets will range in price from $55 to $295, inclusive of all taxes and ticket service charges. Additional blocks of tickets will be offered to more randomly selected registrants starting May 29. Individuals will have the option of purchasing three game (2008 preseason game, 2008 and 2009 regular season games) and eight game (2008-2012) ticket packages. Full payment will be required to complete a purchase (a reduced price will be offered to fans who purchase eight game packages. For more information visit www.billsintoronto.com).
All registrants offered the chance to purchase will also have the option of purchasing VIP/Premium Packages that include hospitality.
Bills and CFL Toronto Argonauts season ticket holders will be offered the chance to purchase tickets prior to www.billsintoronto.com registrants.
The Bills Toronto Series includes a regular season game each year (2008-2012) and preseason games in 2008, 2010 and 2012. The series concept received the endorsement of several key NFL committees and was then approved unanimously by the NFL owners prior to Super Bowl XLII in Arizona.
"We are looking forward to having an electric atmosphere with 54,000 passionate fans in Rogers Centre for these games," added Lind.
On December 7, with the 2008 NFL season reaching its culmination, the Bills will face division rival Miami at Rogers Centre. The game will be played at 4:00 p.m. EST and broadcast nationally in Canada on City TV and Rogers Sportsnet. The game will be the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Canada. The regular season game against the Dolphins will complement the already announced pre-season game on Thursday, August 14 which will see the Bills face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Rogers Centre. The Bills-Steelers game will be played at 7:30 P.M. EST and will also be televised.
